Hello & welcome (a little introduction from your bridal makeup artist in Norfolk)
Hi, I’m Lauren - it’s so lovely to meet you!
If you’ve found your way to this little corner of the internet, there’s a good chance you’re looking for a makeup artist - whether that’s for your wedding, a special occasion, or even a makeup lesson. Wherever you’re at in that process, you’re in the right place.
I thought for my first blog post, we could keep things simple and just get to know each other a little.
Because choosing a makeup artist isn’t just about the makeup.
Of course, skill and style matter, but I think how someone feels to be around plays a huge part too. I know that whenever I’m booking something for myself, I’m not just looking at the final result… I’m wondering: will I feel comfortable with this person? Will I be able to relax around them?
Especially on your wedding morning, that matters more than people expect.
So, here I am.
I’ll admit I’m not the most confident in front of a camera (one day I’ll get some proper headshots done, but for now, a candid from my fiancé will have to do). And writing “about me” sections has always felt a little awkward too… but I suppose that’s part of the point.
The basics:
I’m in my 30s and live in Norwich with my fiancé and our three cats. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me reading (anything romantasy), going to gigs, or gaming.
I’d describe myself as more of an introvert. I used to think that meant I was shy, but after years of working closely with clients, I don’t think that’s quite right. I’m just a calmer, quieter presence and honestly, that’s something a lot of my brides really value, especially on a busy or emotional morning.
I’m also very detail-oriented (and yes, a bit of an overthinker). For a long time I saw that as a negative, but it’s actually a huge part of what makes me good at what I do - I notice the small things, I take my time, and I care deeply about how everything comes together.
I’ve been working in makeup for almost five years now, starting my journey at Charlotte Tilbury in Jarrolds here in Norwich. Working on counter taught me so much and not just technically, but about people. Every client is different, and learning how to really listen and adapt has shaped the way I work today.
I also worked with Bobbi Brown, a brand that focuses on enhancing natural beauty and teaching clients how to feel confident doing their own makeup. That approach has definitely stayed with me, especially in my one-to-one lessons and the way I create soft, wearable bridal looks.
This blog is going to be a space where I share helpful advice & guidance, and honest thoughts on all things bridal beauty - from skincare and makeup choices to creating a calm, relaxed wedding morning.
If you’re someone who doesn’t usually wear much makeup, feels a little unsure where to start, or just wants to feel like yourself on your wedding day… you’re exactly who I had in mind when creating this.
