Let’s be honest - writing “ABOUT ME’S” always feels a bit awkward, doesn’t it? But here goes.
I’m Lauren - a makeup artist based in Norwich, where I live with my fiancé and our three cats (who absolutely rule the roost!)
I grew up in Watford but moved to Norwich for university, and I honestly couldn’t imagine living anywhere else now. I love the creative vibe of the city, but also love being close to the Norfolk and Suffolk coast. We got engaged on Southwold beach, so that feels particularly special to us.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time gaming and reading. My all-time favourite game is The Witcher 3, and I’m currently making my way through the Sarah J. Maas universe. I’d love to hear some more fantasy series recommendations!
Music and going to gigs have always been a big part of my life too. I was a proper little emo kid as a teenager, and I guess that still shows in my music taste now! You’ll most likely find me listening to bands like Paramore (or Hayley Williams’ solo stuff), Sleep Token, Bring Me The Horizon and Don Broco.
NOW FOR THE MAKEUP BIT...
Before makeup, I studied photography and worked in London for a while as an image retoucher. London office life wasn’t really for me and, after taking some time out to travel through Southeast Asia, I realised I wanted a career that was still creative, but much more people-focused. That’s what led me to makeup.
I came home and retrained, going on to work for luxury beauty brands Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown before eventually launching my own business and specialising in bridal makeup.
Whilst I absolutely love creating beautiful makeup, what matters most to me is the experience and the people I get to meet along the way.t
I'm naturally a quieter, more introverted person, and I see that as a strength. I'm here for the brides who feel a little intimidated by the idea of "bridal beauty" (I've been that girl who felt nervous walking into a beauty hall), those who feel a little overwhelmed by all the attention that comes with being a bride, and those who simply want a calm atmosphere and might just need a moment to breathe.
My role is about more than just creating makeup you'll love in your photographs. It's about creating a space where you feel relaxed, supported and completely comfortable being yourself.
