The basics: I’m Lauren and I live in Norwich with my fiancé and our three cats.

what i’m like outside of makeup…

• I guess I probably fit in the elder emo category - you’ll most likely find me listening to bands like Paramore, Sleep Token and Bring Me The Horizon (but I also love Taylor Swift)

• My ideal Sunday? Cosy on the sofa in my PJs, with Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter on and a roast dinner

• I’m originally from Watford but moved to Norwich for university and fell in love with the city

• I travelled around Southeast Asia for four months at the end of 2019 and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done

• I’m a BIG fan of anything leopard print

• I love gaming in my spare time - The Witcher 3 is one of my faves

• My ideal date night is a stroll at the coast at sunset with a portion of fish & chips. Southwold is probably one of my favourite places to go - my partner proposed there in 2024 so it just feels extra special now!

NOW FOR THE MAKEUP BIT…

I didn’t always know I wanted to be a makeup artist. I actually studied photography at uni and worked as an image retoucher but, after a couple of years, I realised it wasn’t for me. So, I did the cliche thing and went off to Asia for a while, where I tried to figure out what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted a career that was creative, something where I could connect with people and something that actually felt like it mattered. That’s when makeup clicked for me.

COVID put things on hold for me for a while but I eventually retrained and went on to work for luxury brands Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown, before launching my own little business.

Over the years, I’ve realised the part I love most about this job isn’t just the makeup itself - it’s the chance to connect with people in a meaningful way. I’m definitely an introvert but I love real, one-on-one conversations and building genuine connections. That’s exactly the energy I bring to every makeup appointment, whether it’s a wedding morning or a one-to-one lesson, creating a space where beauty feels relaxed, fun and never intimidating.
